Take 3

First off, here are some pictures of Lainey in her new dress I made. I put a onsie under to keep her warm, it fits perfect. And I am hoping that in the summer, when she does not have a onsie on, that it will still fit.

And here is the 3rd dress I made her. This one is really casual, simple. And once again I forgot to take a before shot. Sorry guys:( I really wanted to but I just get an idea in my head and I go. It was another tank top, if that helps. It is hard to see in this photo but there is an eyelet (I think that is what it is called) in the middle centre.
And just because she's cute!
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Another Dress!

Remember back when I made a dress for Lainey out of one of my t-shirts? Well I have done it again! This time I am even happier with the results. I have been purging to prepare for the move and now I second look every shirt seeing if it can be used for something else. This was an old tank top I had not worn in years. I love how it turned out and I can not wait to try it on the little lady tomorrow. It has a vintage look to it with all the lace. I had picked up this lace for something else and it caught my eye when I was walking by my table and then this got created. Hopefully it fits her:)

hmmm how many dresses does she need? I would also love to make some rompers! Anyone have a pattern?

10 Months!

Lainey turned 10 months on friday! She is such a little girl now. I know know she's still a baby but she has so much personality that we think of her more as a little girl. She is amazing, I know I am bias, but really she is so incredible.
Things Lainey loves:
She absolutely LOVES people, especially other children. Every time she sees people she smiles, shrieks and waves. Most people wave back but gosh some people are grumpy and don't wave back. Lainey usually keeps trying and her face looks so confused, poor thing.
She recently started feeding me, while I am feeding her. It usually means, "I'm not hungry anymore, you eat it mom!" :)
Loves kisses, if she sees Trevor and I smooching then she makes the sound and sucks her lips, if we both kiss her she starts laughing.
Loves hide n' seek. She loves putting everything over her head and waiting for us to look for her. She really likes when we all go under the blanket, like we are in a tent. I hope this means she is going to love camping this summer.

She's still not interested in tv, although sometimes when I am a lame mom I try to get her interested. Why am I lame? Well another thing she still dislikes is sleeping. Surprise. I loved co-sleeping with her in the begging and I have to admit I still love it most of the time. But now she hates her crib and only wants to sleep with me. I can see her being 3 and still sleeping with me (this is not what I want, but what I predict.)
I am really starting to think about her first birthday party. Does anyone have any do's and don'ts?

Spring Days!

Such a beautiful day here in Vancouver! I took Lainey for a walk and ended up at the Science museum, and she loved it! All the kids running around and so much to look at. There was a great space where I was able to just let her crawl around and explore. She made a little friend and they followed each other around, super cute!
When daddy is home we have been going for lots of walks to the park, the only thing she likes there is the swing. I hope soon when she can walk she will explore the park area more.
This is her new toy, she loves riding it! And soon when she is more stable it turns into a walker (the legal type:))
These are the beautiful pants my mom made her! The are knitted in charcoal grey and are so cozy! The above picture might be a new favourite!
Hanging out at the park, we are waiting our turn to use the 1 baby swing.
This picture reminds me of how much I am going to miss living downtown Vancouver. It is so beautiful here and in just over a month we are moving to suburbia. If only I could afford the million dollar houses in Vancouver.

Finally a nice day to take some pictures of some of the quilts I have been working on. This is for ME, well me and Trevor. I used the Botany line by moda. At the start I had no idea where I was going with this, but I kept adding and ordering more material. I love the colors and how it turned out. It is pretty big 85" x 72", so cozy!

I love how this quilt turned out too. I really like the contrast of the burgundy and pink. The material is Shade Garden and the pattern is "little man" from the awesome book Simplify by Camille Roskelley. It was such a fun pattern and I can't wait to make more from her book:)

I still have 2 quilts to bind and one to baste. Also I started the charity quilts, they are cut and one top is sewn. With the move coming up and then going back to work I am trying to fit in all the quilting I can now:)

Hello Wanda:)

Meet Wanda! This is Lainey's new friend:) I made her today and she turned out pretty cute. I got the pattern from I love naptime. Great new blog that I found today. I wish I knew what naptime was, Lainey has not been sleeping at all:(
I think she likes her.
Lainey's new thing is to play peek-a-boo with toys, she puts them over her face and then moves them above her head and smiles/laughs, I love it.
You can really see her little smile cracking out in this shot.
I have almost finished 3 quilts last week. I just have to put the binding on. I will show more pictures when they are done.
Lainey finished her swimming classes this week. Both Trevor and Lainey have really enjoyed it. Trevor is a little sad it is over and is defiantly going to do it again. The swimming pool is so cool. There is a huge water slide and a lazy river with jets! Awesome!
Lainey and her little friend Claire hanging out:) They are so cute together. I wish I got a picture in there matching swimsuits.

I love Trevors face in this picture. I can just feel how much he loves her, brings a smile to my face.
Lainey finally likes when we read to her. We have been trying since she was born but she had no interest. Now she sits and listens and points things out.
Hope everyone has a great week, I am hoping to so a lot of relaxing!

Best days!

I feel like I am constantly reminded that this dream is going to come to an end. Having Lainey and being off for 9 months is absolutely amazing. So far this has been by far the happiest time in my life so why does it have to end? That work thing that we all have to go to is really a pain in the..... I know it is only temporary and that soon I will be able to take a couple of years off and live the dream life. Here are a couple of pictures of us hanging out.
I love the picture above, Lainey loves the stare-down.
It is getting hard to get pictures of her, she always blinks right before the flash, she knows what is coming. I have to play with my camera and set it up so when there is no flash it won't blur out.
She is so obsessed with eyes. She needs to touch everyones eyes. I am trying to teach her to be gentle but I don't think she gets it. When we read story books she needs to point out all the eyes on every page, it is pretty cute.
A beautiful sweater from grandma. I absolutely just LOVE it! She has already worn it a dozen times and we have only had it for a week. It has defiantly become the go to sweater. We are always asked where we got it and that is just so beautiful. Thanks mom:)
Also my sister Melissa commissioned me to make her a play quilt (a quilt she can leave on the floor for her little ones to play on). Of course I was delighted to do so. One of the best parts is that she buys the material and ships it to my house and you all know how much I love receiving fabric in the mail. My fabric hoarder self really wanted to keep a little piece of each material but there was just nothing left over.
Both sides are done with big blocks. Love the color pallet, it was a fabricworm bundle.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Long time coming!

I feel like I have been trying to take this photo and write this post for months. I finally got outside and took a photo today. I completed this quilt last October and I am still just so pleased with how it turned out. I love the colors and the pattern (baby cakes by Georgette Dell'Orco) was so fun to make and utilized one layer cake. The fabric is moda but I can not remember which line it is. The quilt is pretty big, approximently 62"x79". I was thinking about keeping it but I am going to put it up in my etsy shop.

I put this up for Trevor he thought it was pretty funny to catch a shot of me doing this.
The back is in a grey/purple color that is two toned. This picture shows how it is quilted.

Love this quilt!
