Outdoor Blanket

I am proud to present to you the outdoor blanket. I thought about making this a year ago when Melissa and I talked about it, but never got around to it. Jen asked me the other day if I could make her one, so I got to it right away. One side is made from nylon which is water resistant and perfect for any weather. The other side is made with soft 100% cotton flannel. The inside is polyester batting to give the blanket thickness as well a little padding. It measures 69"x49", perfect for the whole family to have a picnic on it. Now all I have to do is make myself one!!! Jen I hope you love it and it is what you are looking for, I will send it out in the mail this week.

Also there are a few pictures of Lainey smiling. It is not her full on smile but she just won't smile for the camera yet. Today was full of smiles:) She started as soon as I gave her a kiss and picked her up in the morning, great way to start the day.

Two Months!

She is already two months, time really does fly by, although life without her seems like a long time ago.
We learnt this past week that Lainey loves taking baths with us. I hold her out in front of me and move her around, she is so peaceful and looks around at everything. If I hold her close to me she will kick off my body to move out on her own (well under my arms but away from my body). When it comes time to take her out she is not so happy:( I can't wait to take swim classes with her or just be able to take her to an out door pool.
We also figures out that when she has her hand out above her head with her figures spread that she wants to grab our finger. I think this is for comfort.
As for quilting I am still working on a couple of baby quilts for some special people. A Dick and Jane quilt, a lap quilt and a new project for Jen. She has requested an outdoor blanket that is water resistant on one side. I will post some pictures once these projects are finished.
Tomorrow we are off to our two month shots, hopefully the needle doesn't hurt her too much.

enjoying saturday afternoon snuggles with dad!
Hanging out with Grandpa and Nanny!
Love how her fingers are always spread.
Lainey and I in our dresses for her second birthday. Right after this photo she was sick all over both our outfits, isn't that always the case. At least we got a photo first.

Life is better......

.......with great friends. I feel very lucky to have such great friends in my life and Lainey is very lucky too! Today we got to go to the outdoor pool with Nicole. What a beautiful day. And although Lainey is too little to swim, Nicole and I took turns cuddling Lainey and swimming. Thanks Nicole you made today awesome, even if we did get a ticket:)

Nicole have you seen Lainey's sunglasses????
Look at the view!!!
This picture cracks me up, she looks so cute.
Who me?

......when LAiney sleeps in her carseat, and let me tell you this does not happen very often. But check out those checks. Speaking of her chubby checks, we went to the doctor today and Laney weighed in at 10lbs 15oz. I could not believe it, she is growing so fast, she is eight weeks now.

......when you get to lay on the couch and snuggle with your baby girl!

A few pics

Well we have been pretty busy lately and time has been passing by so quickly. We are just enjoying everyday with Lainey, she is growing so quickly. I can't believe that she has pretty much grown out of most of her clothes already.
This week we got to go to our first mom and baby movie. It was a very interesting experience. There were babies crying and toddlers running around throughout the whole movie. Lainey was amazing she slept through the whole thing. We got to see the new movie called "Babies", very appropriate. It was very interesting, there is no talking in the entire movie. It is about 4 different families in 4 parts of the world raising the babies from newborn to two years old. It really shows you how little a baby really needs other than LOVE.
We are attempting to start to put Lainey in her crib, well at least Trevor is. I just can not bring myself to leave her in there. We will see how it goes, she is in there right now and it has been 1 hour, I bet she will end up back in bed with me before the night is over.
I also had time to get a lot of quilting done. I have 2 baby girl quilts and one lap quilt pinned and ready for quilting. Plus I ordered some really great material online, I can't wait to make something with all of it. Speaking of quilting, I am going to open an etsy shop with some of my quilts that I have made. I am hoping that this will at least pay for my hobby plus I have too many quilts in my closet that need someone to snuggle with them. I will post a link once I actually get around to doing it.

Lainey hanging out with her new friend that Nicole made her, thank you Nicole.
Looking up at the picture wall, she just loves all the photos, perfect place for the change table. She is also wearing the adorable dress Aunt Julie bought her, Thank you Julie:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa!

We had a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa and were very lucky and happy that they both came to stay for a visit. They were so helpful and Lainey just loved them:) Here are some pictures from there visit.
This one is such a dorky picture of all of us except mom but I thought it was pretty funny. Trevor must have said something pretty funny. edit.....alright I was just reminded of why we are making those faces, apparently we were imitating little miss Lainey:)

We already miss them and can not wait for the fall when we will see them again.
